Hi, Gary. Here's another video story on Thursday's burial ceremony. It includes a nice interview with Shaharom Ahmad, of the Malaya Historical Group:

Cheers,

There's no video in your post Matt?
It was good to see Geoff Dovey, he's not changed that much since I met him at the 355/356 reunion in Blackpool in what seems for me a different lifetime. I just realised they called him John Dovey in the Telegraph video but put Geoff in the main text.

Thanks for all that information Matt and a huge thanks to all the people in Malaysia who carried out the excavation.
Its good to know that these brave men have at last received the burial they richly deserve.

Thanks for keeping us in touch with all the progress

Brian

Hi, Brian, Gary, and all,

Oops...I had forgotten to add the video link when I last posted. Thanks for pointing that out, Gary. I edited the posting and added the video link.

And another KL654 story, in the New Straits Times newspaper in Malaysia, written by Sager Ahmad. He made more treks to the crash site than anyone -- at least 11.

I see this as a politically correct story, not meant to ruffle any MOD feathers! And Sager's editor kept it short.

As an outsider looking in, but knowing some of the participants, I had forgotten to mention Sager's key role in this tale of perseverance.

Cheers,

Matt

I'd just like to thank everyone for your efforts.

It's been a monumental task, but finally, the crew have been laid to rest.Thank you so much.

Mr Poole, I remember emailing you a while back, regarding the KL654 nose art ? I didn't realise at the time you were interested in the crew etc..... my apologies Sir.
