Sorry for my poor english.

I am looking for RAF number Liberator "The Skirt Patrol". His US serial number 42-78096. Early he flight on 464th Bomb Group, 778th Bomb Squadron.
Probably transfered to No 301 Sq.

Skirt Patrol ex 42-78096

RAF Serial TW761

Previously used by 778th BS 464 BG Taken on Charge 25 January 1945 converted for Special Duties 29 March 1945. Returned to the USAAF 5 July 1945.

In it the author states that "Skirt Patrol" was so damaged that it was used as spare parts?

Hi Mike,

In that time there were two Liberators called the same name. They were differed from each the other with serial number.
The first of them was shot down in July 1944 (Skirt Patrol ex 42-95371).

I have the photo of my grandfather standing near probably the second one (Skirt Patrol ex 42-78096) in Brindisi airport of January 1945.
