According to my father convoy patrol aircraft had only a nose mounted gun and rear turret whereas these aircraft have top turrets. Some 86 Squadron planes were so equipped and used for 'anti aircraft' patrols against FW Condors. Photo & Text Courtesy Of John Wade.
